Getting to the Reception

Located on Chicago's west side, The Garfield Park Conservatory has a large dedicated parking lot and is located steps from the CTA's Green line Garfield Park train stop that exits directly onto the conservatory's front entrance.

Driving
We recommend taking I-290 to the venue.

Driving From The Write Inn:
1. Take Lake Street west to Harlem Ave and turn left (south)
2. Drive South on Harlem for 1 mile, turn left (east) onto the I-290 East ramp
3. Follow I-290 East for 4 miles, take exit 26A towards Independence Blvd. When exiting the freeway, continue East, merging with Harrison Ave.
4. Turn left on S Central Park blvd
5. Continue north approximately 3/4 of a mile. Parking for the Conservatory is on the west side of the street, just north of the elevated train tracks.

Driving From Downtown Chicago:
1. The simplest driving route from downtown would be to meet up with W Congress Pkwy and then head west. Congress will become I-290W.
2. Take I-290W to exit 26B, toward Homan Ave. As you exit I-290, continue west, merging with Congress
3. Turn right onto S Central Park blvd
4. Continue north approximately 3/4 of a mile. Parking for the Conservatory is on the west side of the street, just north of the elevated train tracks.

Public Transit (check www.cta.com for detailed route information)
Train basics: most trains run every 5 to 15 minutes and cost $2.25 one way. You pay before you board either with a tap-and-go credit card; or by purchasing a rechargable "Ventra" fare card available at the train station. Bus can run at irregular schedules, follow nuanced routes, and are not recommended. You can pay with cash as you board buses, or with a tap-and-go credit card or "Ventra" fare card.
From the Write Inn: Board Green Line train towards Cottage Grove or Ashland/63; the 7th stop will be Conservatory, for the Garfield Park Conservatory.
From downtown Chicago/elsewhere: You will take the Green Line towards Harlem/Lake; your stop will be Conservatory. If your hotel is not within comfortable distance to a station serviced by the Green Line, it may be more efficient to board a nearby train line (e.g. red, blue, or brown) and transfer to the Green Line towards Harlem/Lake; one common transfer station is State/Lake. If you'd like to take public transit but are unsure of your route or particulars, email or call Scott and he can help get you where you want to be.

Taxi
To or from the venue, a taxi would cost approximately $25 including tip; call ahead (888) 222-2222, or use smartphone app such as Uber.
